First Durrenberger Scholarships for Women in Science Awarded

Weldon Durrenberger, a 1933 graduate of Texas State, in memory of his late wife, established the Gwen S. Durrenberger Endowed Scholarship in Science. This has made possible the awarding of substantial scholarships that will enable young women to engage in promising careers with the knowledge that they have the support to be successful in their chosen field. Countless generations of students will benefit from his generous gift, beginning with the following women this year: Kristen Epp, Celeste Espinedo, Lissette Gomez, Tina Gonzales, Kaci Myrick, Anita Ramos, Elaine Tennant, Allana Welsh, Jennifer Wheat, and Elena Wisely.
