Joining the ECL Research Team
Thank you for your interest in joining my research team! Since I get hundreds of such requests each year, I'm no longer able to respond to all of them. In particular, I'll only respond if your email indicates that you have read this web page and meet the following requirements.

Ph.D. Students
Please only contact me if you already have a strong background in parallel programming and are truly excited about researching this topic (and not AI). When you contact me, explicitly state what your background in parallel programming is and why you want to research it deeply. Note that all full-time Ph.D. students in our department are paid.
Master's Students
Please take CS 5351 at Texas State and impress me by doing really well in that course. Contact me towards the end of the course if you are interested in working on a master's thesis related to program parallelization (but not AI). All master's-level research on my team must be in connection with a thesis and is unpaid.
Undergraduate Students
Please take CS 4380 at Texas State and impress me by doing really well in that course. You can take this course as early as your junior year. Contact me towards the end of the course if you are interested in working on undergraduate research related to program parallelization (but not AI). Unfortunately, I do not have any meaningful research that you could help with before having taken this course. All undergraduate research on my team is unpaid but can be taken for credit.
