Research

  • I am currently working with Dr. Hou Tao Cybersecurity, specifically emphasizing web security and user privacy.
  • I worked with Dr. Stan McClellan on IoT, Data Privacy, Data Security, Private LTE, LoraWan Technology, Blockchain for IoT, and research on ICTO Technology. He was also my thesis advisor.

    Cybersecurity

    • I am currently working to find vulnerabilities in the web security, by scrapping top ranked websites and analyzing them.

    Private LTE and Data Security

    • As a part of Connected Infrastructure for Education, Demonstration, and Applied Research (CIEDAR) team at Texas State University, I am responsible for configuring private LTE on Anterix network to implement IoT within University’s Star Parks facility. It includes applications running on standard LTE, NB-IoT, and Cat-M1 technology. I am working to remotely connect various advanced smart systems including smart metering system, video surveillance camera, inteliLight Smart Light, and automation pole tilt to the LTE network.

Power Generation Prediction Using Machine Learning Algorithms

    • Used Kaggle dataset to predict the power generation of a solar power plant using multiple machine learning model.
    • Used python libraries like Scikit-learn, NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib and used Texas State’s high performance computing LEAP cluster for training the machine learning models.

    LoraWan Antenna Installation

    • Recently worked with Everynet Company to install LoRaWan antennas in San Marcos (Texas State University and Star Parks).
    • I was involved in experiments with LoraWan network to test its use cases. I am currently working on testing the performance of the LoRaWan network for various IoT communication protocols, and provisioning and testing various LoRaWan devices on the network.

    Research on IoT Environment

    • Comparing the network efficiency of Blockchain in IoT with up and coming technology ICTO.
    • To compare commonly used IoT communication protocols, like MQTT and Socket, I am testing them under various TCP payloads.
    • I wrote an algorithm to automatically capture and document the properties of a specific packet from the network, like the header length, total length, total time it took for packet to transfer data, etc to a file. I compared the different protocols under similar payload sizes using the data I collected.
    • Additionally, I'm exploring a unique data entity called UXP object created by the security company Sertainty, to learn more about its potential applications in the Internet of Things.
