About Me

Collin Reisman

First-year PhD student in Computer Science at Texas State, advised by Dr. Aniruddha Bora.

Energy providers commit to hydropower months in advance, and drought planning runs on forecasts that degrade fast past the short horizon. I work with Dr. Aniruddha Bora on the DOE’s Genesis Mission, building long-range water availability forecasts on output from E3SM… DOE’s exascale Earth system model. My piece is drift correction by finding how far you can push a learned forward operator before accumulated error makes the forecast useless, and correcting for it.

My dissertation work, tentatively titled Forward Operator Use on Long-Horizon Tasks / Quantum Compute, asks how far learned forward operators can be pushed before error accumulation makes long-horizon prediction unusable, and what changes when the underlying system is a quantum one. The question is still very early.

I did my undergraduate work here as well, earning a B.S. in Computer Science from Texas State. I then spent a year in the master’s program before moving directly into the doctoral program to start this research sooner.

This site also has a teaching page, which is currently a placeholder, since I have not taught yet. (Hi Dr. Ngu!)
